Sihame is what you call a serial Social Entrepreneur, a lady on a mission. In 2009 she started Let’s Go Urban to make a difference for the new generation. She started this project as an after school program of Urban Culture but today Let’s Go Urban is a booming social project and has 2 successful spin-offs: Let’s Go Urban Academy and Let’s Go Urban Network.
In the Let’s Go Urban Academy youngster of all colours and social backgrounds come together to let off some steam with the thing they are most passionate about (music, dance, sports, acting, entrepreneurship,…). A team of 50 coaches supports them in their personal development because Sihame wants them to say ‘I AM SOMEBODY’and be ready to face their future.
Let’s Go Urban Network is actually a community of advanced participants: role models, creative entrepreneurs who will go on to inspire many other youngsters.
But she does so much more. Together with her team she helps private companies to connect with talent from a new generation. How? By starting projects, developing concepts, giving talks,… All within the purpose to allow as many youngsters as possible to reach their full potential.
She also holds a seat on a couple of boards of directors (De Studio, De Zomerschool, De Schoolbrug and – as their youngest board member ever – at VRT, the Flemish Radio and Television Corporation).
Her mission is to create maximal positive social impact. Therefore she has been setting up WannaWork for the last 2 years. With WannaWork she wants to close the gap between businesses and the new generation:a recruitment service that guides today’s potential and talent, in al its shapes and colours, toward the business community.
